Javascript programming

12 March 2012 - 03:19 AM

I was wondering if anybody has expertise with Javascript, I am attempting to write a script and it is being a major pain. What it does is finds all the links on a page and does regular expression to check if it is a link that leads to a particular site.If it is then it needs to grab the source of the links web page and do some regular expression on that page and return the result. There is more I want it to do after that but, first things first. I have the link finding done. Just need help with pulling the page source for the page the link leads to.

Linux Devices

17 February 2012 - 07:43 PM

I was wondering if anybody knows of any handheld mobile devices that either run Linux or can have Linux put on them. I have already put Linux on a Zipit Z2 but, I am looking for something with some more power to it.  I am looking at maybe getting a Sharp Zaurus SL-5500.

Anybody know of anything else besides Android Devices, Zipit Z2, Sharp Zaurus SL-5500?

iOS VS Android

iOS VS Android

Which one is better???

and

Why?

First off I would like to say I do not own any iOS devices but, I do have an Android tablet on the way and have done quite a bit of research about Android devices mainly development. I have messed with an IPod touch though, it seemed pretty good but, I personally think that Android is better, for one thing Android can run flash and iOS can not with out 3rd party applications. The Android OS is also open source so there is less of a chance for bugs and security holes. There is also an x86 version of Android although for what I have read it does not do a whole lot but, you can test drive apps on it. Android is based on Linux as well and I am a fan of Linux. The hardware specs Android can run on are fairly vast. It costs $99/year to be part of the Apple Developer program at the minimum and it costs $25 once to have your apps published on the Android Market and they are on there in minutes. Android emulator is free and easily usable can be configured to run with various specs I have not found a single iOS emulator that is freely available. iOS does have more major developers publishing for the platform though. If anyone is familiar with Android development any tips and tricks would be appreciated.
